AMCOS is an association of music publishers and writers, established in 1979 to provide a centralised means of licensing the reproduction of musical works for a variety of purposes.
Mechanical royalties are legally payable when music is reproduced. This includes music recorded on CD, music made available for digital download or internet use, music used in a film soundtrack, mobile phone ringtones or produced as sheet music.
